John McInroy will be the women’s first team coach

The South African coach arrives at Pau Negro eager and excited to create a competitive group

Known in the hockey world as ‘Macky’, he has a long experience as an international player and coach in different countries. He is recognized for his ability to lead and the energy he brings to the teams he has coached.

Hockey as a family heirloom

Born in Cape Town (South Africa), hockey comes from his family heritage. Both his father and his mother were players of this sport. He went to England at the age of thirteen where he represented the English team in the U16 and U18 categories. He later returned to his home country and represented South Africa U21 at the 2001 World Cup and went on to play 45 caps for the South African senior team.

Coaching experience

McInroy is an FIH Level 3 certified coach and has been to different clubs in Ireland, England and South Africa.

He highlights promotion to the English Premier League with Exeter University HC, a South African championship with Pinelands HC and a KLeinster Cup winner with Dublin’s Corinthian HC.

‘Macky’ arrives at Pau Negre with the aim of helping the players grow and establishing the pillars to have a stable team in the coming seasons.
